Abstract
- A recent qualitative study conducted by the Federal University of Parana in Brazil explored the emotional and social impacts of atopic dermatitis (AD) on mothers of children with the disease. The study found that AD significantly affects the quality of life of both children and families, but there is a lack of literature on the social and emotional impact on caregivers. The research involved semi-structured interviews with 23 mothers of children diagnosed with AD, and the findings revealed that mothers experienced conflicts and difficulties in dealing with the disease. The study suggests that psychological support should be offered to mothers to improve long-term adherence to treatment. [Extracted from the article]
