Abstract

A recent report from the University of Miyazaki in Japan discusses the case of an adult woman with Rapid-Onset Obesity with Hypoventilation, Hypothalamic, Autonomic Dysregulation, and Neuroendocrine Tumors (ROHHAD(NET)) syndrome. This syndrome is extremely rare and life-threatening, with death typically occurring around the age of 10. The patient in this case was diagnosed with ROHHAD(NET) syndrome in childhood and later developed nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The report provides valuable information on the natural history of NASH and HCC, as well as potential therapeutic approaches. [Extracted from the article]
