Abstract
- A recent report from the University of Gondar in Ethiopia discusses the case of a child with schizencephaly, a rare condition characterized by abnormalities in brain structure due to disruptions in neuronal migration. The child presented with delayed walking, speech difficulties, left-sided hemiparesis, and an inability to sit without assistance. Magnetic resonance imaging confirmed the presence of open-lip schizencephaly. The report emphasizes the importance of early intervention and neurorehabilitation in improving cognitive and motor functions for individuals with schizencephaly, as there is currently no permanent cure for the condition.
