Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Minho in Portugal explores the integration of digital and virtual technologies in evaluating work-related biomechanical risks. The study reviews 24 commercial tools and 10 academic studies and finds that artificial intelligence (AI) and digital human modeling (DHM) are the most commonly used technologies in commercial tools. However, discrepancies were found between commercial tools and academic studies. The study acknowledges limitations and suggests future research directions, including enhancing transparency in commercial tool validation processes and considering human-centered design principles in technology integration. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape of biomechanical risk assessment. [Extracted from the article]
