Abstract

Researchers at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein have conducted a study comparing immune reconstitution dynamics after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) using two different immunosuppression methods: anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG) and post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy). The study found that PTCy was associated with later reconstitution of B, T, and NK cells compared to ATG. Additionally, certain cell types were identified as risk factors for acute and chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). This study provides valuable insights into the immune reconstitution process after HSCT and the effects of different immunosuppression methods. [Extracted from the article]
