Abstract

A systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by researchers at Hangzhou Medical College in Zhejiang, China explored the efficacy of intravaginal electrical stimulation (IVES) as a potential treatment for pelvic floor disorders (PFDs). The analysis included 13 randomized controlled trial studies and found positive effects of IVES therapy on various PFD cure outcomes such as daily voiding frequency, nocturia, pad test, and urinary incontinence. However, the impact of IVES therapy on the quality of life of individuals with PFDs was inconclusive. The researchers recommend further research to provide more conclusive insights into the efficacy of IVES therapy for PFDs. [Extracted from the article]
