Abstract

P&O Ferries has launched its second hybrid vessel, P&O Liberté, on the Dover-Calais route, representing a £250 million investment in UK trade and travel. The ferry, along with its sister ship P&O Pioneer, makes up the newest and most technologically advanced fleet on the English Channel. Meanwhile, DNV and Ocean Sovereign are seeking French registration for the deployment of the Ocean Ark, a self-cleaning trimaran superstructure designed for offshore aquaculture. The vessel, measuring 170m by 60m, is capable of being equipped with eight cages of 35m width or four cages of 64m width, ensuring the health and welfare of the fish in their natural habitat.
