Abstract

This article reports the first case of Pod pepper vein yellows virus (PoPeVYV) infecting Solanum nigrum L. plants in China. PoPeVYV is a polerovirus that causes pepper vein yellows disease in peppers, leading to symptoms such as interveinal leaf yellowing and curling. The researchers extracted RNA from diseased plants and used reverse transcription PCR to confirm the presence of PoPeVYV. The amplicons obtained showed high nucleotide identity with a PoPeVYV isolate from Yunnan Province. This study provides important information about the spread of PoPeVYV and its impact on Solanum nigrum L. plants in China. [Extracted from the article]
