Abstract

Zionism is a Jewish movement of national liberation and self-determination that emerged as a response to antisemitism and the loss of Jewish national identity in European society. It restored Jews' ability to express themselves as a nation and a political entity, giving them the freedom to live comprehensively. The idea of Jewish national independence has a deep historical significance and has been sustained through centuries of exile. The Zionist movement called upon Jews to return to their ancestral homeland and rebuild their lives, providing hope and strength after the Holocaust. Israel has become the central Jewish home worldwide, with a strong Jewish identity and culture. Anti-Zionism is seen as an assault on Jewish history, identity, and narrative. The State of Israel serves as a model for colonized and downtrodden peoples seeking freedom and self-determination. [Extracted from the article]
