Abstract
- This article explores the effectiveness and safety of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) who are taking direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs). While there is ongoing debate about the use of IVT in DOAC-treated patients, some studies suggest that it may be more effective due to the altered structure of blood clots formed in the presence of DOACs. However, further research is needed to fully understand this relationship. The article also provides a list of references that cover various aspects of thrombolysis and anticoagulant use in AIS patients, offering valuable information for researchers and healthcare professionals. Additionally, a systematic review and meta-analysis included in the article conclude that recanalization therapy appears to be safe in AIS patients receiving anticoagulation treatment, with no significant increase in adverse events. This information is useful for healthcare professionals working with stroke patients on anticoagulation therapy. [Extracted from the article]
