Abstract
- A systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by scientists from China and the United States has found that targeted vitamin D supplementation can have positive effects on cardiometabolic health. The review analyzed 99 randomized controlled trials involving over 17,000 participants and revealed that vitamin D supplementation was associated with reductions in blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, and insulin levels. The benefits of supplementation were most pronounced in non-Western populations, individuals with low baseline vitamin D levels, those with a BMI below 30, and older individuals. The study suggests that personalized vitamin D intervention strategies could improve health outcomes and reduce the prevalence of cardiometabolic diseases. [Extracted from the article]
