Abstract

A recent report from the Institut de Cancerologie Strasbourg Europe in France discusses the challenges of managing non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with brain metastases (BM) as the initial sign. The study analyzed 25 patients with newly diagnosed brain metastatic NSCLC without specific genetic alterations. The findings suggest that patients with symptomatic BM as the first sign and those with oligometastatic disease have better prognosis. The study also highlights the potential benefits of combining local approaches with first-line immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) and chemotherapy in improving survival outcomes for brain metastatic NSCLC.
