Abstract
- New research from Kyoto Pharmaceutical University in Japan explores the role of gamma-Glutamylcyclotransferase (GGCT) in glioblastoma stem cells, which are associated with therapy resistance in glioblastoma, a type of malignant brain tumor. The study found that knockdown of GGCT inhibited the proliferation of glioblastoma stem cells and reduced the expression of certain proteins involved in cell growth. The researchers suggest that inhibiting GGCT function may be a potential therapeutic strategy for suppressing the stemness of glioblastoma stem cells. This research provides insights into novel therapeutic strategies for treating glioblastoma. [Extracted from the article]
