Abstract
- Nike CEO John Donahoe, who took over in 2020, has been criticized for his lack of knowledge about sneakers and his focus on cutting out middlemen to increase profit margins. Under Donahoe's leadership, Nike ended relationships with more than half of its retail partners and shifted its marketing strategy to online ads. However, this strategy has led to competitors like Adidas and Hoka gaining market share and customers realizing that Nike's designs are not as innovative as they once thought. After slashing its revenue forecast, Nike may need a change in leadership. [Extracted from the article]
