Abstract

Financial literacy can be defined as the ability to understand and apply basic financial concepts and, as such, plays a key role in shaping an individual's financial well-being. In this work, research was conducted with a focus on assessing the level of financial literacy among young people between the ages of 18 and 35. Analyzing key areas of financial literacy, such as lending, investing, saving, as well as general concepts, deficiencies in current educational practices were identified. The results indicate the challenges that young people face in this domain, emphasizing the need to strengthen their financial education. Regarding the above, it was determined that the level of financial literacy and knowledge about consumer credit increases with the level of education of the respondents. The results of the correlation analysis, conducted in the SPSS program, in both regards indicate a strong statistical connection between the observed variables. Proposals were formulated with the aim of improving the financial education of young people and strengthening their ability to make informed decisions, as well as achieving long - term financial stability.
