Abstract
- This article discusses a pilot study that aimed to assess the use of a portable scanning device to measure body metrics in people with obesity. The study found that the device was capable of accurately identifying maximum body area and circumference, and these measurements strongly correlated with traditional metrics such as BMI and body fat. The participants reported high acceptance of the scanning procedure and found the visual output motivating. The authors suggest that optical scanning could have potential applications in clinical practice and other settings where body metrics are important. However, further research is needed to evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of this approach. [Extracted from the article]
