Abstract
- India has seen a significant increase in solar open access capacity, with 3.6 GW added in the first half of 2024, a 153% surge compared to the same period in 2023. This surpasses the total annual installations of previous years. Adani Green was the leading seller in the Green Day-Ahead Market, accounting for 29% of electricity sold. However, challenges such as transmission infrastructure availability and inconsistent state regulations are hindering further growth. Additionally, India's push for corn-based ethanol has made the country a net importer for the first time in decades, impacting local poultry producers and global supply chains.
