Abstract

Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) is in talks to sell its subsidiaries, Maaden Aluminium Co. and Maaden Bauxite and Alumina Co., to Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) in exchange for shares in Alba. The companies also plan to cross-list Alba shares on the Saudi stock exchange. This partnership would make the combined company one of the world's largest aluminum producers. Maaden's CEO, Bob Wilt, believes that this partnership will enhance their competitive edge and provide a more reliable supply of aluminum. Maaden's role in Saudi Arabia's strategy to become a key supplier of metals and minerals for the energy transition is also highlighted. [Extracted from the article]
