Abstract

In June 2024, researchers announced the discovery of a new species of dinosaur called Lokiceratops rangiformis. This dinosaur, found in the badlands of northern Montana, is a cousin of the Triceratops and belongs to the horned dinosaur family known as ceratopsids. Lokiceratops had the largest and most ornate horns in this family, making it distinct from the four previously known species. The researchers believe that the existence of Lokiceratops alongside other dinosaur species 78 million years ago indicates greater diversity in these and other dinosaur species than previously understood. In another article, farmers in Argentina have found a new way to keep vampire bats away from their cattle by feeding them baked tomatoes. Vampire bats, which primarily feed on the blood of warm mammals like cows, are lured away from the cattle by the warm and juicy tomatoes. This technique has helped protect the cattle from blood loss and diseases spread by vampire bats. [Extracted from the article]
