Abstract

This paper explores Paulo Freire's philosophy from the perspective of an adult education advocate and student. The author describes being introduced to Freire's works and provides an analysis of the impact of Freire's theories in both personal and academic realms. Themes explored include praxis, understanding the oppressor/oppressed dichotomy, and what Freire's theories look like in use as an adult educator.
