Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Maharashtra, India, evaluated different root coverage procedures for the treatment of gingival recession. The study compared the effectiveness of three procedures: free gingival graft, connective tissue graft + coronally repositioned flap, and platelet-rich fibrin + coronally positioned flap. The researchers used the root coverage esthetic score (RES) system to assess the esthetic outcomes of these procedures after 6 months. The study found that the connective tissue graft + coronally repositioned flap procedure produced the best esthetic outcome, achieving complete root coverage. The incorporation of the RES system into clinical practice can improve evaluation accuracy and patient care. [Extracted from the article]
