Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the Second Hospital of Shandong University in China explored the association between serum total bilirubin (TBIL) levels and the prognosis of Disorders of Consciousness (DoC). The study included 168 patients with DoC, and their clinical characteristics and blood samples were collected. The researchers found that higher TBIL levels were significantly associated with a better recovery outcome at 1, 3, and 6 months. However, further research is needed to understand the underlying causal relationship between TBIL levels and DoC. This study provides valuable insights for clinicians and families in predicting the recovery of DoC. [Extracted from the article]
