Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences in Uttarakhand, India, examined the effects of different doses of dexmedetomidine infusion on patients undergoing nasal surgery under general anesthesia. The study divided 94 participants into two groups, with one group receiving a higher dose of dexmedetomidine infusion than the other. The researchers found that while the higher dose had more hemodynamic adverse effects, it also reduced the incidence of emergence agitation and resulted in a smoother recovery profile. The study suggests that a higher dose of dexmedetomidine may be beneficial for patients undergoing nasal surgery. [Extracted from the article]
