Abstract

A new report from Baylor University discusses the case of a 27-year-old woman with a rare vascular malformation called a superior vena cava saccular aneurysm. The aneurysm, which was over 4 cm in diameter, was discovered incidentally and surgical resection was recommended to prevent complications such as rupture or venous obstruction. The surgery was successful and the patient remained asymptomatic during follow-up visits. This research highlights the importance of surgical intervention for saccular aneurysms to prevent associated complications. [Extracted from the article]
