Abstract
- A report from the University of Melbourne discusses the findings of a study on the relationship between women's social media-based appearance comparisons, body satisfaction, and disordered eating urges. The study involved 315 women who reported their experiences over a seven-day period. The results showed complex bi-directional relationships between appearance comparisons, body satisfaction, and disordered eating urges. The researchers suggest that further research is needed to better understand these relationships and develop targeted interventions. The study was published in the Journal of Eating Disorders.
