Abstract

This article presents a new approach to testing high-voltage circuit breakers (HVCBs) that improves efficiency and accuracy. The current testing process for HVCBs is time-consuming and labor-intensive, requiring multiple cables and sources. The proposed approach streamlines the testing process by using the same sources and cables for both timing and contact resistance measurement. The article also emphasizes the importance of dynamic resistance measurement (DRM) in assessing the condition of arcing contacts. The new approach optimizes resources, reduces testing time and costs, and enhances safety for testing personnel.
