Abstract

This article discusses the potential for malignant transformation in endometriomas, which are typically benign. The study presents a case of a 58-year-old patient with a history of endometriosis who experienced the transformation of a typical endometrioma into endometrioid cancer. The patient had regular ultrasound examinations, and the changes in the characteristics of the cyst over time were observed. The authors suggest that monitoring endometriomas in menopause, even if they are small, is important, and further research should be conducted to identify potential signs of malignant transformation before it occurs.
