Abstract
- This article, titled "EP08.04: Short femur: is it a marker for uteroplacental insufficiency?", explores the association between a short femur in fetuses and markers of uteroplacental insufficiency. The study conducted a retrospective case analysis of 45 cases of short femur with normal postnatal outcomes, excluding syndromic conditions with abnormal bone morphology. The results showed that a high percentage of these cases were associated with markers of placental dysfunction, such as high mean uterine artery PI, AC/EFW below the 10th percentile, and CPR abnormalities. The study suggests that a short femur can be an early indicator of underlying placental insufficiency and should be prioritized before considering other causes. [Extracted from the article]
