Abstract

This article discusses a pilot study on the use of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) for diagnosing adenomyosis, a condition characterized by heavy menstrual bleeding, dysmenorrhea, and subfertility. The study involved 15 premenopausal patients with adenomyosis and one healthy control. The results showed that CEUS was a feasible technique for imaging adenomyotic uteri and revealed differences in the microvascularization between healthy and adenomyotic uteri. The authors suggest that further research is needed to confirm these findings and evaluate the diagnostic value of CEUS in diagnosing adenomyosis. [Extracted from the article]
