Abstract
- This article, titled "Screening for fetal CNS anomalies: are the actual standards sensitive enough?", discusses the use of ultrasound in detecting central nervous system (CNS) anomalies in fetuses. The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the current screening criteria and propose potential improvements. Two experts reviewed data from cases of CNS anomalies and found that while the extended axial views increased the detection rate, additional planes were still necessary for a comprehensive assessment and accurate diagnosis. The authors recommend further research into extended views and the addition of supplementary planes for fetal brain imaging. [Extracted from the article]
