Abstract

Shimano, an outdoor recreation equipment company, has launched a new philanthropic initiative called the Trail Born Fund. The initiative aims to increase and sustain mountain bike trails and trail access worldwide. Over the next 10 years, Shimano plans to donate $10 million to support trail projects and trail advocacy organizations. The company believes that investing in trail building and advocacy will protect and expand trail access, providing more opportunities for people to ride and discover the sport. The Trail Born Fund will initially focus on select areas in North America, Europe, and Oceania, with plans for further expansion to Asia, Africa, and Central and South America by 2026. The funds will be allocated after a thorough review of advocacy organizations and proposed projects, ensuring support for legal and sustainable trails. [Extracted from the article]
