Abstract

This article presents a meta-analysis of six randomized clinical trials comparing magnetic ureteral stents to conventional ureteral stents. The analysis found that while magnetic stents offer potential benefits such as easier removal, concerns over safety and efficacy have limited their widespread use. The study provides detailed information about the individual studies included in the analysis, highlighting the lack of significant differences between the two types of stents in terms of pain, general health, work performance, and sexual matters. However, magnetic stents were associated with more frequent urinary symptoms. The study acknowledges the limitations of the included trials and suggests the need for further research in this area.
