Abstract

A recent study conducted at Arsi University in Ethiopia aimed to investigate the prevalence of urinary incontinence (UI) among pregnant women and its impact on their quality of life. The study found that UI affects approximately 18.6% of pregnant women, with stress UI being the most common type. Risk factors for UI included a history of UI, instrumental delivery, and alcohol intake. The study emphasizes the importance of advising pregnant women to avoid or reduce alcohol consumption and seek treatment for UI, as well as the need for follow-up throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.
