Abstract

A study conducted by investigators from the Norton Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, Kentucky, examined the outcomes of direct pars repair in patients with spondylolitic spondylolisthesis. The study found that 82% of patients achieved partial or complete bone healing, while 15% experienced persistent postoperative pain. The researchers concluded that the pedicle-screw with wiring technique used in the study may be a viable option for preserving lumbar motion in patients with spondylolitic spondylolisthesis before resorting to interbody fusion. The study was published in the journal Spine and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
