Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Qufu Normal University in Shandong, China, explored the research trends and hotspots in the field of exercise-regulated myokines. Myokines are bioactive factors secreted by skeletal muscle during exercise that play a crucial role in inter-organ interactions. The study analyzed research literature from 2003 to 2023 and found that there has been a slow but steady growth in publications on this topic. The United States and China were the leading countries in terms of publications and collaboration networks, with Harvard University ranking first in terms of the number of publications. The study identified key co-cited reference clusters, such as skeletal muscle dysfunction and obesity, and highlighted the importance of myokine-mediated oxidative stress in exercise simulation. Overall, the research in this field shows an upward trend, with a focus on different types of exercise and the interaction of myokines with other organs. [Extracted from the article]
