Abstract
- A study conducted by the University of Washington examined the prevalence of periodic limb movements during sleep in children with early onset scoliosis (EOS). The study found that children with EOS had a higher frequency of periodic limb movements during sleep, which were correlated with increased arousal and hypoxemia. This research suggests that patients with EOS are at a higher risk of sleep disordered breathing and sleep disruption, which can have adverse consequences on their overall health. Further research is needed to better understand the relationship between scoliosis and sleep disorders in children. [Extracted from the article]
