Abstract

New research from Mahatma Gandhi Central University in Bihar, India, explores the potential of Syzygium aromaticum (clove) extract in mitigating chemotherapy-induced oedema, a side effect that can worsen cancer-related issues. The study found that the ethanol extract of Syzygium aromaticum effectively reduced inflammation-induced paw swelling and modulated key inflammatory markers in rat models. The active compounds responsible for these effects were identified as delphinidin, quercetin, and rhamnetin. Further research is needed to validate these findings and explore the underlying mechanisms. [Extracted from the article]
