Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at Alfaisal University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, examined the root canal morphology of maxillary and mandibular incisor teeth in Saudi patients. The study used cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) to analyze images of 480 patients. The findings revealed that all maxillary teeth had one root with Type I canal configuration, while mandibular teeth also had one root, with the majority having Type I canal configuration in central and lateral incisor teeth. The study also found that tooth length varied by gender and age, with males generally having longer teeth than females. Additionally, mandibular lateral incisor teeth had the highest mean distance from the cementoenamel junction (CEJ) to the point of canal separation and the highest mean width in the area of canal division.
