Abstract
- A recent medical case report from Charles Nicolle Hospital in Tunis, Tunisia, highlights the challenges of diagnosing appendicular perforation caused by foreign body ingestion in adults. The report describes the case of a 77-year-old male patient who presented with right iliac fossa pain but did not experience vomiting or fever. Despite initial suspicion of small bowel perforation, surgery revealed a thin, sharp chicken bone lodged in the wall of the appendix. The bone was successfully removed, and the patient had an uneventful recovery. This case emphasizes the importance of considering atypical clinical presentations and the need for further research to improve the management of this rare condition. [Extracted from the article]
