Abstract
- A recent study conducted by the Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany, has developed a controlled functionalization strategy for proteins that preserves their structural integrity while binding to nanocarriers. The research found that chemical over-modification of proteins can lead to the loss of their native structure and affect their functionality. By utilizing a minimal modification strategy, the study successfully attached minimally modified proteins to liposomes, a type of nanocarrier, while maintaining their structural integrity. This research has the potential to improve the targeting efficiency of proteins for future biomedical applications. [Extracted from the article]
