Abstract
- A recent report from Beijing University of Chemical Technology highlights the potential of a new synthesis method for the antiepileptic drug brivaracetam. The researchers discovered that immobilized penicillin G acylase (IPGA) can catalyze the conjugate addition reaction, resulting in a straightforward synthesis process with high yields. This method offers a more sustainable and effective approach to organic synthesis and demonstrates the versatility of existing enzymes. The study was supported by the State Key Laboratories of Chemical Resources Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. [Extracted from the article]
