Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Babol University of Medical Sciences in Iran explores the potential therapeutic and diagnostic applications of exosomes in multiple sclerosis (MS) pathophysiology. Exosomes are lipid vesicles released by cells that contain proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids. They can induce inflammatory responses and toxicities in recipient cells, but they can also serve as therapeutic vehicles by transporting protective cargo. Exosomes have been found to play a role in neuroinflammation regulation, neurogenesis improvement, and the pathogenesis of CNS diseases, including MS. However, further research is needed to fully understand the molecular pathways involved. The study aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the role of exosomes in the occurrence and improvement of MS. [Extracted from the article]
