Abstract
- This article discusses the life and love of Molly Keane, an Irish author who had a deep passion for hunting. Molly grew up in a horsey, Anglo-Irish world where women reading or writing books was viewed with alarm. She began her writing career under the pseudonym MJ Farrell, but eventually published books under her own name. Molly's collaboration with the sporting artist Snaffles resulted in the book "Red Letter Days," which brought Irish hunting to life. Despite personal challenges, Molly's writing career experienced a resurgence with the publication of her novel "Good Behaviour." Molly Keane passed away in 1996, leaving behind a legacy in the Irish literary world. [Extracted from the article]
