Abstract

This article discusses the publication of facsimiles of three printed sets of partbooks containing Latin motets by William Byrd and Thomas Tallis. The facsimiles were produced by the Oxford-based Digital Image Archive of Medieval Music (DIAMM) and are clean, legible, and free from printing issues. The article also mentions the differences between the original copies of the Cantiones Sacrae collection and provides information about the layout and content of Byrd's solo collections of Latin motets. Overall, the facsimiles are intended for performance and provide valuable insight into the work of these renowned composers. [Extracted from the article]
