Abstract
- The American Sustainable Business Council has filed a lawsuit against Texas officials, including Comptroller Glenn Hegar and Attorney General Ken Paxton, in an attempt to block a law that restricts state investments with financial firms based on their energy policies. The law, known as Senate Bill 13, has been criticized for being unconstitutional and for infringing on free speech and association rights. The American Sustainable Business Council argues that the law harms its members and prevents them from competing for business in Texas. Similar anti-ESG laws in other states have also faced legal challenges. [Extracted from the article]
