Abstract
- Aim: The purpose of this study is to remove turbidity from wastewater by using novel Carica papaya and Hibiscus rosa coagulants. Materials and Methods: Carica papaya and Hibiscus rosa coagulants were used to treat dye wastewater using a coagulation process. The two groups, control (Hibiscus rosa) and experimental (Carica papaya) have 15 samples for each group respectively, and a total of 30 samples. The paired t-test is performed by utilizing G-power of 80%. Turbidity removal is used as a quality index in this study. Results: Carica papaya showed the maximum removal of 67% compared to Hibiscus rosa (59%) coagulant in wastewater treatment. The paired sample t-test on two groups showed that there was a statistically significant difference with p value as 0.001 (p<0.05). Conclusion: From this study, the maximum turbidity removal was achieved by using Carica papaya compared with Hibiscus rosa. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
