Abstract

Israel's Labor Federation, the Histadrut, has declared a nationwide strike in order to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government to make a deal with Hamas. The strike, which will begin on Monday, will involve members walking out of their jobs, including at Ben-Gurion International Airport. The strike comes after the military recovered the bodies of six hostages in Gaza, including an Israeli-US citizen. The Histadrut Chairman stated that it is important to reach a deal and put an end to the killing of Jews in Gaza. The private sector has also announced that they will join the strike.
