Abstract

Libya is set to restart production in three oil fields as the United Nations attempts to resolve a dispute between the country's rival governments. The Sarir field has already begun pumping, while the Messla and Nafoura fields have received similar instructions. The resumption of these fields could bring back around 300,000 barrels per day of output, which would help alleviate the significant decrease in Libya's daily oil production. The UN is working to negotiate an end to the standoff, but the situation remains uncertain. [Extracted from the article]
