Abstract
- Peter and Eileen Crichton embarked on a journey to follow the UK's watershed divide through England, from north to south. They successfully mapped out a similar watershed divide in England, known as the Kingdom Divide, and included interesting spots along the way. The journey involved off-road driving and obtaining permission from landowners and authorities. The divide passed through various landscapes, including Roman forts, wind farms, quarries, and urban areas. The Crichtons faced challenges in identifying the route through flatter terrain and navigating through cities. The divide ultimately made an S-bend, reflecting the catchment areas of the Avon and Thames rivers. The Crichtons recorded their experiences and statistics about the divide, including the length driven, crossing points achieved, and average altitude of crossings. [Extracted from the article]
