Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the Ghana Health Service compared the impact of group-based antenatal care (G-ANC) to routine antenatal care on birth preparedness and complication readiness (BPCR) among pregnant women in Ghana. The study found that participants in the G-ANC group were able to identify more pregnancy danger signs and had higher overall BPCR scores compared to those in the routine antenatal care group. The researchers concluded that G-ANC significantly increased BPCR among women in rural Eastern Region of Ghana and recommended prioritizing the implementation of G-ANC in future efforts. The study was registered on ClinicalTrials.gov and more information can be found in the BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth journal article. [Extracted from the article]
